This game seems almost incidental, sandwiched as it is between the two ties against Sevilla. If we are to get anything from this one, Moyes will need to make sure the players are focused. There's still a massive amount to play for in the league.
I think we can forget about Bowen participating in this game. Apart from that it's a question of whether the manager wants to rest anyone or circulate the meagre resources at his disposal. Given that Dawson has been playing with pain-killing injections I would have thought we could give Diop a run-out here. Lanzini might also benefit from a break, with Vlasic getting a go in his preferred central role.

What an awful choice we have for our front 3.
A striker that isn’t a striker
Two attacking mids that are barely footballers.
I’d rather see youngsters play than Benrahma, Vlasic or Antonio. They can’t do any worse and even if they do equally as bad at least we get to know that and they get experience.

Putting aside the argument whether or not we should go weak tomorrow or not, I am not convinced that resting players before an important game ends up making any difference anyway? I wouldn't know what the stats are with this, with us or in general, but I'd be surprised if it shows that we have won a decent percentage of big games when resting players for the one before.

No kicker wetting just total frustration that for the lack of 2 or 3: astute signings a very promising season is fizzling out in front of our eyes.
Unfortunately Moyes natural caution plays perfectly into the hands of the cheapskate philosophy of the Daves.
But make no mistake the likes of Bowen and Rice will not stick around for another season of mid table mediocrity

All this bollocks of being happy with what we had last year is crap.
Why shouldn't we expect,demand want a top 6 and Europe every year. We should expect a decent run in that area constantly.
Our failure to buy or use the squad,U23s will be the reason for not making EL or top 6.
That's down to the manager and his backroom team. They received and rightly so plaudits last season and the start of this.
Now they have to see how good they really are.
No excuses from now on.
Moyes has already said it's tough playing Sun,Thu,Sun. It is harder if you don't use your squad.Moyes and team prove it.
Villa played the same schedule this week
U23's played last night drawing against Chelsea. Perking scoring.
None will feature on Sunday in the first XI.

The success of last season has made many on here acts as spoiled brats.
Manuel, finishing seventh is normally a great season for West Ham, yet you mock it as failure, where in fact it would be one on the top 20 finishes in our history.
We've consolidated. Let's see what happens in the summer and get behind the team in the meantime.

Moyes-lets keep the same team all season. Wanker. Blames Atlanta for going missing last 4 hours of the transfer window. Where was he the preceding 30 days. IF he had bought strikers in the summer or winter windows, we wouldn't be solely reliant on an out of form converted wing back as our only striking option. Mismanaged by Moyes. Full Stop.

Came write it off, more important than Thursday really. We have more chance through the league than winning the Europa imo. Think we’ll get beat no matter what though.
